Sept 19.As the heavy earthquake from Sikkim rocks parts of Assam's and it's inhabitants, people fear of a mega earthquake that may strike the city, as one by one more than 3 times the earthquake shook Sikkim and corresponding the North East region itself. The earthquake took place in the eve of 18 September 2011, around 6.11 pm the 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Sikkim and later on 6.23 a 5.4 magnitude.The earthquake has nearly killed 74 people.and more than 400 people have been rescued by helicopters. The earthquake has left tremendous loss of life and property for the people.
