1934 : Dibrugarh - Chabuah tea garden started.
1840 : Dibrugarh Govt. Boys School was built. In 1870 it's name was changed to Dibrugarh High School and later in 1965 to Dibrugarh Higher Secondary school.
1852 : Indian Navigation Company started it's shipping services.
1856 : Steam Boats started to be plying from Dibrugarh across the river Brahmaputra.
1882 : Railway Service was established from Mohanghat to Jeypore.
1901 : Dr. John Berry White established the Berry White Medical School in Dibrugarh. In 1947 this school was changed to Medical College or in other words The Assam Medical College. The College was inaugurated by late Honorable Chief Minister Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi in November, 1947.
1945 : The Dibrugarh College was started. In 1950 it was changed to Hanuman Bax Kanoi College.
1965 : The Lahoal Polytechnic was established, 15 Km away from Dibrugarh town.
1965 : Second University in Assam, The Dibrugarh University was established.
1924,1947,1967,2001 : The Assam Sahitya Sabha Sanmilan was commenced.
