All Assam Childrens Festival organised by The Asom KalaSatra.
The Asom Kalasatra ( An organization engaged in promoting Assamese folk culture and art) organized an All Assam Children Festival dedicated to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika , which included painting competitions, exhibitions, live artwork by renowned artists of Dibrugarh and a cultural night extravaganza, with dance performances by the blind students of Moran Blind school ( Moran ) , Gurukul Nritya Kala Kendra and many more.
The Ashes of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika immersed in the river Bramaputra at Dibrugarh.
The "urn " containing the ashes of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika were today immersed in the river Brahmaputra at Dibrugarh. The ceremony took place at around 8.00 am in the morning, with a holy preach.by the "Pujari's" several people went to pay their last respects to the immortal soul and to receive his blessings including Dr. K.K Dwivedi ( D.C ) Dr. Nagen Saikia ( X President Asom Sahitya Sabha ), Lakinath Gogoi ( President Asom Sahitya Sabha ), Dolly Das ( Renown Assamese Folk Singer ), and many more . A vehicle was decorated to carry the urn of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. A rally was conducted by the AASU in front of the vehicle and the entire street was cleared by he police authoritie's to make way for the people. The great walk took around and hour or so, which ended at the joggers park near the S.P's Office. The Urn was carried on a Boat and and was later on immersed at a distance from the bank of the river.
